DGT Showcases 37 Digital Tax Tools for 16-Digit TIN Holders at MUC BIJAK Event

JAKARTA. The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) revealed that 37 tax services can be accessed using the new Tax ID Number (TIN) format, which consists of NIK (Population Identity Number) as TIN, 16-digit TIN, and the Identity Number of Place of  Business Activities (NITKU).

This was delivered by the Director of Extension, Services, and Public Relations of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) Dwi Astuti when she was the Keynote Speaker at the MUC Bicara Pajak (BIJAK) Webinar, on Wednesday (14/8).

Previously, the DGT has gradually updated tax service applications to be accessible using the new 16-digit TIN format in addition to the old 15-digit format.

According to Dwi, in the future, all applications can only be accessed with the new format TIN. The transition period to the full use of the 16-digit TIN format will last until 31 December 2024.

Transition Period

During the transition period, DGT will ensure that all taxpayers have matched the NIK as the TIN. In addition, DGT also expects that all entities that use TIN as an administrative requirement can adjust the use of 16-digit TIN.

On the occasion, MUC Consulting Partner Meydawati revealed that the tax application update conducted by the DGT is important for taxpayers. However, it cannot be denied that at the beginning of its use, the tax application cannot be used optimally.

"Although, of course, at the beginning of use, there must be obstacles. This is something that is part of the initial process of implementing the application," said Meydawati.

For information, the MUC BIJAK webinar took place online through the Zoom platform. The event presented DGT Associate Tax Counselor at DGT Dian Anggraeni and MUC Consulting Tax Compliance Manager Muhammad Ridho as speakers.

On this occasion, Ridho revealed several obstacles faced by taxpayers when using the new tax application.

Meanwhile, in her presentation, Dian emphasized that one of the key aspects of using this tax application is the matching of the NIK with the TIN. Since the NIK serves as a taxpayer's identity, it must be matched with the TIN to fulfill tax obligations.

This is crucial because many tax-related business processes require taxpayers to provide their TIN, which in this context is represented by the NIK, such as when generating tax withholding slips.(ASP/KEN)
