As of August 2024, PMSE VAT Revenue Increased by 21.67%

JAKARTA. The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) recorded that the amount of Value Added Tax (VAT) collected from Trade Through Electronic Systems (PMSE) amounted to IDR 5.39 trillion throughout 2024 or during the January-August 2024 period.
This figure represents a 21.76% increase compared to PSMS VAT revenue in the same period of 2023, which was IDR 4.43 trillion. Meanwhile, cumulatively, the amount of PMSE VAT collected since the regulation came into effect in 2020 has reached IDR 22.3 trillion.
As of August 2024, the number of PMSE companies that have deposited VAT to the government is 166 companies. Meanwhile, in 2023, in the same period, the number of collectors appointed and paid PMSE VAT was 139 companies.
DGT Appoints Two New PMSE VAT Collectors in August
Throughout August, the DGT has added two new companies to the list of PMSE VAT collectors. The two companies are THE World Universities Insights Limited and Cloudkeeper (Singapore) PTE. LTD. There was also a correction in August 2024 regarding Freepik Company, S.L.
According to the regulations, these two companies must start paying PMSE VAT no later than the end of the month following the end of the tax period.
Thus, the number of digital companies appointed as PMSE VAT collectors has reached 176. This appointment is made for digital companies that have met the criteria as stipulated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) number 48/PMK.03/2020.
The criteria that a digital company must meet to be appointed as a PMSE VAT collector are, firstly, having a transaction value of IDR 600 million per year or IDR 50 million per month. Secondly, the digital company has been accessed by more than 12,000 visitors in one year or 1,000 visitors in one month. (ASP)
