JAKARTA. The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) stated it had disbursed an accelerated restitution facility for overpayment of individual income tax worth IDR 79 billion, derived from 18,398 applications.
Meanwhile, quoting Kontan.co.id, the number of accelerated restitution applications received by the DGT was 21,285 taxpayers with a restitution value of IDR 89 billion. This means that only 86% of applications have been approved and 89% of the restitution value has been disbursed.
This facility is provided only for taxpayers who submit applications with a maximum tax overpayment value of IDR 100 million, as stipulated in the Director General of Taxes Regulation Number PER-5/PJ/2023.
DGT ensures that the remaining applications are still in process and will be completed in the near future, according to the expected timeframe, which is a maximum of 15 working days since the application is received.
However, the DGT does not guarantee that all applications will be approved and restitution will be disbursed. As an illustration, to date, the DGT has issued around 8,000 preliminary refunds of excess tax letters (SKPPKP).
In addition, there are 5,000 applications whose processes are not continued because they do not meet the formal and material requirements. Such as incorrect writing, and withholding tax slip.
Therefore, to ensure accountability and transparency, the restitution application process is accelerated through less intervention and less face-to-face. (ASP/KEN)
