JAKARTA. Until the end of August 2023, the number of taxpayers (WP) who have received refunds or accelerated tax overpayments is 5,652. Of that amount, the value of restitution that has been paid reaches IDR 24.9 billion.
Meanwhile, the number of taxpayers who applied for accelerated restitution facilities reached 15,642 WP, with a restitution value of IDR 61 billion. Thus, the amount of restitution that has not been successfully returned reaches IDR 36.1 billion.
Then, when compared to all potential applicants for accelerated restitution, the number of recipients of the facility still has a difference of 9,990 WP.
The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) said, that based on the Annual Tax Return data that has been received, the number of taxpayers who have a maximum tax overpayment of IDR 100 million is 15,642 taxpayers.
For information, this restitution acceleration facility can only be utilized by taxpayers who have a maximum tax overpayment of IDR 100 million, as regulated in Director General of Taxes Regulation No. PER-5/PJ/2023.
In the regulation, the government also accelerated the restitution process from one year to only 15 working days.
In addition, the restitution process is also carried out in a less intervention and less face-to-face manner. The goal is to make the restitution process more accountable and avoid abuse of authority. (ASP)
