JAKARTA. MUC Consulting collaborated with the Indonesian Red Cross Society and a social community Blood4life to hold a blood donation event attended by 47 employees.
This event took place on Friday (15/9) on the 1st floor of the MUC Building and was open to the employees' families. Previously, all MUC Consulting employees who were willing to participate in the activity were asked to fill in the form provided.
The activity is a form of MUC Consulting's commitment to contribute to the government's efforts, especially the Indonesian Red Cross Society, in ensuring the availability of national blood supply.
As for being able to participate in this activity, the participant's health conditions must meet the specified requirements. For example, if participants suffer from certain diseases, it is not recommended to participate in the activity.
Specifically, some of the diseases that participants should not have include:
- Heart and lung disease
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Diabetes mellitus
- Abnormal bleeding tendencies or other blood disorders
- Epilepsy and frequent seizures
- Hepatitis B or C
- Drug dependence
- Alcohol addiction
- Having or being at high risk of HIV/AIDS, or
- Due to the doctor's advice.
In addition, the committee also reminded participants to do a few things before blood donation. Such as sleeping at least 4 hours before donating, eating 3 to 4 hours before donating blood, and drinking more water than usual on the day of donating blood.
Then, after the donation activity, participants are encouraged to rest for at least 10 minutes while enjoying the snacks provided. Afterwards, participants can do other activities.
To avoid swelling at the needle site, participants are asked to avoid lifting heavy objects for 12 hours. In addition, participants are advised to drink more after blood collection for the next 72 hours to restore stamina. (ASP/KEN)
