Imports of Flat-Rolled Iron from China, Korea, and Taiwan Subject to Anti-Dumping Duties

The government will impose anti-dumping duties on imports of flat-rolled iron or steel from the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, and Taiwan for the next five years.

What is meant by anti-dumping import duties is an addition to the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) duties that have been imposed or additional on preferential import duties stipulated in international agreements

This is stated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 66 of 2024 which is effective from October 18, 2024, to October 17, 2029.

Specifically, the flat-rolled iron subject to anti-dumping duties has a width of 600 mm or more, has a thickness of less than 0.5 mm, and is included in Tariff Headings 7210.12.10 and 7210.12.90.

The anti-dumping duties are only imposed on imports of flat-rolled iron or non-alloy steel that is gilded or tin-plated under the following conditions.

First, the import customs declaration document has received a registration number from the customs office where the customs obligation is settled. This provision applies when the settlement of customs obligations is carried out by filing a customs declaration.

Otherwise, the second provision applies, namely, the customs tariff and value are determined by the customs office at the place of settlement of customs obligations. This provision applies in the event that the place of settlement of customs obligations is carried out without filing a customs declaration.

Entry and Release of Goods from the Free Trade Area

Then, related to the procedures for the entry and/or release of imported goods in the form of flat-rolled iron or steel from free trade areas and free ports, bonded storage areas, or special economic zones, carried out following the relevant provisions.

For information, this provision was issued because imports of these products are considered to have an impact on the domestic industry. This is the result of an investigation by the Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI). (ASP/KEN)
