JAKARTA. The government amended the provisions on the imposition of import duties on safeguard measure on imports of curtain products, interior blinds, bed valance and other furnishing article, by issuing Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) number 54 / PMK.010 / 2020. This regulation replaced the previous provision governing the same thing, namely PMK number 163 / PMK.010 / 2019.
In the new regulation, the government changed the import duty tariff scheme for security measures for curtain products, interior blinds, bed valance and other goods. If previously the imposition of import duties used a single import duty of IDR 441,083 per Kilogram (kg), in the new regulation the government imposed three different tariffs based on a certain time period.
For imports made from the period 27 May 2020-8 November 2020, the prevailing tariff is the same as the previous tariff IDR 41.083/Kg. As for the import period 9 November-8 November 2021 will be charged the lower rate IDR 34.961/Kg and for the period of 9 November 2021-8 November 2022 of IDR 28.839/Kg.
This provision applies from 27 May 2020 to 8 November 2022 and applies to all countries, except for a number of countries mentioned in the beleid attachment. There are 124 countries that are exempt from the imposition of this tariff. Goods imported from countries that are exempt from the import duty of safeguard measure must be accompanied by a Certificate of Origin (COO).
For information, the import duty on safeguard measure is the additional of general import duty (Most Favored Nation) or additional preference import duty based on the applicable international trade agreement scheme.
