JAKARTA. The government revised the excise revenue target for 2023, to be lower than the original 7.4%. Previously, in the 2023 State Budget (APBN), the excise revenue target was set at IDR 245.45 trillion.
However, quoting kontan.co.id, the target was changed, through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 75 of 2023 to IDR 227.21 trillion, or IDR 18.23 trillion lower.
In detail, the new excise revenue target consists of tobacco excise of IDR 218.69 trillion, down from the previous target of IDR 232.59 trillion.
Then ethyl alcohol excise is set at Rp 127.41 billion, down from Rp 140 billion, and beverages containing ethyl alcohol (MMEA) at IDR 8.38 trillion, down from IDR 8.67 trillion.
Meanwhile, until the end of October 2023, the realization of excise revenue reached IDR 150.55 trillion, consisting of excise on tobacco products of IDR 144.84 trillion, ethyl alcohol of IDR 90 billion, and MMEA of IDR 5.54 trillion.
Compared to the realization in the same period in 2022, this achievement was lower. For the record, until October 2022 the realization of excise revenue reached IDR 158.8 trillion. (ASP/KEN)
