Promoting Regional Income Optimization: MUC Hosts HKPD Law Webinar
Friday, 03 November 2023
JAKARTA. Through Law (UU) Number 1 of 2022 on Financial Relations between the Central Government and Regional Governments (HKPD), it is expected that equitable quality fiscal management can be realized.
There are at least five things regulated in the regulation which has been in effect since January 5, 2022. These include providing regional revenue sources in the form of taxes and levies, managing transfers to regions (TKD), managing regional expenditure, granting authority to carry out regional financing, and implementing national fiscal synergy.
The granting of the authority to collect taxes and levies to regional governments is accompanied by restructuring of tax types, providing new local tax sources, simplifying the types of levies, and harmonization with Law number 11 of 2020 on Job Creation.
Thus, with this regulation, it is anticipated that local governments can enhance the optimization of their Regional Original Income (PAD).
Nevertheless, the implementation of this regulation comes with its share of challenges. To address some of these challenges, MUC Consulting will be hosting a webinar with the theme 'Latest Developments in Implementing the HKPD Law and Regional General Provisions and Tax Procedures (UU KUP) to Enhance Regional Original Income Optimization.'"
