Sri Mulyani : Tax Service Procedure Will Be Reformed
Sunday, 06 August 2023
JAKARTA. Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati revealed that tax system reforms will continue to be carried out, including related to improving the procedures for services provided to taxpayers.
With the improvement of the service system that is being prepared, later tax payments will be easier, like people buying credit. The reason is that tax is an obligation so taxpayers do not need extra efforts to carry it out.
One of the steps that has been running to achieve this goal is the matching of the Single Identification Number (SIN) with the Taxpayer Identification Number (Tax ID Number).
Through the SIN-Tax ID Number matching, taxpayers will find it easier to access taxation services, because they no longer need to have or memorize two identity numbers at once.
This was conveyed by Sri Mulyani at the Spectaxcular 2023 event on Sunday (6/8), which is an annual tax education event conducted by the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT).
On that occasion, Director General of Taxes Suryo Utomo also said that one of the improvements being made at the DGT includes enriching the database.
This will be done through the new tax administration system, namely the core tax administration system.
The data that will be collected in the core tax system includes tax deductions by employers or other parties that deduct Income Tax Articles 21, 22, and 23 and Value Added Tax (VAT).
The data will later become the material for making the Tax Return that will be stored in the system that can be accessed by all taxpayers. In other words, the Tax Return preparation will use a prepopulated mechanism.
Taxpayers only need to use the data that is already available, but if there is data that is not yet available, taxpayers only need to add it. (ASP)
