With the CTAS update, filling out the Annual Income Tax Return will be much easier because it will be pre-populated. It means that all information required in filling out the tax return will be available in the taxpayer account in the core tax system.
Therefore, taxpayers do not need to fill in data into the Annual Income Tax Return form, because they only need to see whether the data is correct or not and add other data if they feel it is lacking.
Quoting cnbcindonesia.com, this provision is planned to come into effect in May 2024, if the core tax system has been completed by the DGT.
According to the Director General of Taxes Suryo Utomo, with the taxpayer account in the core tax system, it is possible to collect every taxpayer's data.
Currently, DGT admits that it is preparing the use of the core tax system, including through training for DGT employees. The training will be conducted in stages, starting from master trainer training that will provide training to all DGT employees.
In addition, the core tax system will also go through a trial phase in several DGT regional offices. After that, it will be evaluated to ensure that there are no problems when used in all DGT Regional Offices.
