Coretax Takes Over Thousands of Tax Employees' Works
Thursday, 13 October 2022
JAKARTA. The reform of the tax administration system called the Coretax Administration System (CTAS) will bring many changes to the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT).
Coretax system is a technology-based information system that will replace the current Tax Administration Core System (SIAP).
One of the impacts of the Coretax System is that the DGT has to shift the role of tax officials who originally functioned as service providers to become supervisors, auditors and law enforcement officers.
According to the Expert Staff to the Minister of Finance for Tax Supervision, Nufransa Wira Sakti, as quoted by Antaranews.com, there are six thousand tax employees currently serving to provide services to taxpayers.
With the change in the role of the tax officers in the service division, it is expected that the mechanism for supervision and audit will be improved.
In addition, with the existence of the Coretax system, the government hopes that the taxpayer supervision mechanism will be much easier. Because Coretax can classify taxpayer supervision based on risk.

Based on the level of risk, DGT can distinguish which taxpayers require high-intensity supervision and which do not. Because the Coretax system, which is targeted to be used in 2023, can collect data related to the economic activity of taxpayers.
The data will also be synchronized with the Single Identity Number (SIN) which has functioned as a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) for individuals.
