JAKARTA. The Directorate General of Taxes announced the amount of Value Added Tax (VAT) successfully collected by companies doing Trade Through Electronic System (PMSE) during January-August 2022 of IDR 3.5 trillion.
This amount is almost equal to the achievement of PMSE VAT levies throughout 2021 which was recorded at IDR 3.9 trillion and has exceeded the achievement of PMSE VAT payment in 2020 which was only IDR 731.4 trillion.
Thus, the total amount of PMSE VAT collected since it was first collected is IDR 8.2 trillion.
In the written statement, the DGT stated that PMSE VAT receipts came from levies made by 106 PMSE companies out of 127 PMSE that had been appointed as VAT collectors.
Previously in July and August 2022, DGT appointed 8 other PMSE companies as VAT collectors. The eight companies include:
- Evernote, GMBH
- Asana, Inc
- Patreon, Inc.
- Change.Org
- PT. Ocommerce Capital Indonesia
- ESET, Spol, sr.o.
- EGTrader UAB
- Waves, Inc.
In addition to adding PMSE collection companies, DGT also made corrections to Meta Platforms Technologies Ireland Limited, Proxima Beta Pte Ltd, Tancent Mobility Limited, Tencent Mobile International Limited, Image Future Investment (HK) Limited, High Morale Developments Limited, Aceville Pte Ltd, and Chegg , Inc.
The corrections are only made to data elements in the appointment decree that change or differ from the actual situation.
In appointing the PMSE VAT collector, there are several criteria that the DGT considers. Some of these criteria include having a transaction value with Indonesian buyers exceeding IDR 600 million a year or IDR 50 million a month.
Another criteria is having the amount of traffic in Indonesia exceeds 12 thousand a year or a thousand in a month, to collect PMSE VAT for these activities.
