JAKARTA. The government extended the deadline for imposition of anti-dumping duties on imports of Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate (BOPET) from India, China, and Thailand.
Anti-dumping duties are additional of general import duties or Most Favored Nation (MFN) or in the form of additional preferential import duties based on a trade agreement scheme.
Previously, anti-dumping imposition on plastic raw materials had been imposed for five years from December 2015 to December 2020.

This extension was carried out based on the results of an investigation conducted by the Indonesian Anti Dumping Committee (KADI) since 30 September 2019. The investigation concluded that the imposition of anti-dumping duties was still necessary to protect the domestic industry.
In more detail in this provision, it is explained that anti-dumping duties are imposed for imported BOPET in the form of plates, sheets, film, foil, and other strips.
Including BOPET from plastics, non-cellular and non-reinforced, non-laminated, and not combined with other materials included in the tariff posts ex 3920.62.10 and ex 3920.62.90.
