Prof. Gunadi is an important figure in the development of Indonesian tax system and regulations. The expertise of the professor of Administration Faculty of Universitas Indonesia is not only recognized in the academic sector, but also makes him occupy several strategic positions in the government.
At the peak of his career he became the Director of Income Tax (2000-2001) and the Director of Tax Audit, Investigation, and Collection (2002) in the Directorate General of Taxes as well as the Deputy Head of Indonesian Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (Pusat Pelaporan dan Analisis Transaksi Keuangan/PPATK) in research, analysis, and intra-institution cooperation area.
Since 2018 until 2019, the holder of Master of Public Finance from University of Den Haag and Doctor of International Taxation from University of Leiden, the Netherlands, occupied the Head of Taxation Supervisor Committee. He is also recorded as the Head of Sekolah Tinggi Perpajakan Indonesia and the advisor of Yayasan Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Pajak Indonesia as well as the Senior Advisor of MUC Consulting and MUC Tax Research Institute.
