Bengkulu, Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Bengkulu Provincial Development Financial Supervisory Board (BPKP) managed from 2008 to April 2010 saved Rp33.8 billion in state money.
They money was saved from 68 cases processed by BPKP in ten regions in Bengkulu province, Head of the Bengkulu BPKP office Edy Karim said Thursday.
He said the findings of the corruption cases in the area continued to increase, in 2008 with 28 cases, in 2009 with 34 cases, and in 2010 up to April with eight cases.
The findings in Bengkulu province reached seven cases with a total loss to the state money reaching Rp11.15 billion, in Seluma regency four cases (Rp8.3 billion), Muko Muko regency six cases with Rp2.4 billion, and Lebong regency with Rp2.5 billion.
In findings in Bengkulu city administration there were five cases reaching Rp2.1 billion, Rejang Lebong regency seven cases with a loss of Rp1.7 billion, and in North Bengkulu regency with a loss of Rp1.6 billion.
In South Bengkulu regency there were ten cases with a loss of Rp1.6 billion, Kepahiang regency with eight cases with a loss of Rp1.4 billion, and in Kaur regency with four cases with a loss of Rp 751 million.
The BPKP findings are being dealt with by the police and high prosecution office in Bengkulu, and the perpetrators had been sentenced to jail.
According to the BPKP, the most corrupt government agencies are the Public Works Agency, National Education Agency, and the Health-care Agency.
