Indonesia, Netherlands Sign MoU To Tackle Customs Abuse

Under the terms of the MoU, the Dutch and Indonesian customs authorities will establish a formal basis for cooperation, especially in capacity building and information sharing. They will also exchange details about reputable traders from both countries.

Heru Pambudi, Indonesia's Director General of Customs and Excise, said: "To achieve goals together, we believe the important element is to share knowledge. In addition to learning a lot of things about the customs system of the Customs Administration of the Netherlands, Indonesia's [customs authority] will also have the opportunity to share knowledge and experience in combating smuggling of drugs. The signing of this MoU, I hope, can be useful for both sides."
