DGT to Release Updated e-Faktur and e-Nofa Applications, Taxpayers Advised to Prepare
The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) announced that it will soon launch a new version of the electronic Tax Invoice application service, aka e-Faktur, and the application for making Electronic Tax Invoice numbers or e-Nofa. The e-Faktur application that will be launched includes the e-Faktur Desktop version v.4.0 and the e-Faktur Web Base version.
For this reason, DGT asks taxpayers to adjust their e-Faktur and e-Nofa applications. Because the new e-Faktur and e-Nofa applications will support the use of the Population Identity Number (NIK) as the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), 16-digit NPWP, and the Identity Number of Place of Business Activities (NITKU).
Related to this, DGT will temporarily conduct downtime or activities to stop tax services available on DGT Online, on July 20, 2024, from 09.00 WIB to 19.00 WIB.
After the downtime ends, the new E-Faktur Desktop application version v.4.0 can be used. Some things must be considered so taxpayers can use the E-Faktur Desktop application version v.4.0.
1. Have Performed Matching
Before updating the e-Faktur application, make sure that the VAT-Registered Person for Individual Taxpayers has matched the NIK as TIN.
2. Download the Application Installer
First, taxpayers must download the e-Faktur Desktop application installer version v.4.0. The application installer can be downloaded since July 12, 2024.

3. Application Update
Taxpayers who want to use the e-Faktur Desktop application version v.4.0 must update the application on the https://efaktur.pajak.go.id page. However, keep in mind that the application update can only be done after the expiration date.
4. Stop Invoice Upload
DGT also asks taxpayers to stop uploading invoice data, returns and other documents during the downtime process.
5. Perform Database Back-up
To avoid errors or corrupted of the e-Faktur database, taxpayers are encouraged to back up old data. This is done by copying the database (db folder) in the old application (e-Faktur Desktop version v.3.2) and then moving it to the new application folder (e-Faktur Desktop version v.4.0).
To avoid failure of the backup process, when backing up data, make sure that the folder process is complete and the backup file is successfully generated by the system.

The Use of Old Application
DGT ensures that taxpayers can still use the old version of the e-Faktur Desktop application or version v.3.2 until July 20, 2024, or until the downtime process. However, the old application can no longer be used when the e-Faktur Desktop application version v.4.0 is launched.
For information, the certainty of the launch of this new e-invoice application is stated in the Announcement of the Director General of Taxes No. PENG-18/PJ.09/2024 stipulated on July 12, 2024. This regulation is a follow-up to the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 112/PMK.03/2022 and Director General of Taxes Regulation No. PER-6/PJ/2024. (ASP/CHY/KEN)
