Jasa Marga earns Rp 647b in profit
State toll road operator PT Jasa Marga earned Rp 647 billion (US$71.65 million) in net profit in the first semester of 2010, increasing 63-percent from Rp 395 billion in the same period of 2009, a top official said on Monday.
“The escalating number of toll road motorists has played a significant role in our increasing net profit. In the first semester 2010, toll road users rose 2.6 percent to 464 million vehicles, up from 449 million in the same period last year,” said Jasa Marga president director Frans S. Sunito said as quoted by kompas.com.
In terms of total revenues, Jasa Marga 2010 first semester earning’s rose 24-percent to Rp 2.1 trillion, up from Rp 1.7 trillion achieved during the same period in 2009.
Jasa Marga holds a 72 percent toll road market share, operating 531 kilometers of toll roads nationwide. The state company plans to increase its operating capacity to 750-km across Indonesia by 2014.
